Appomattox Inn and Suites

Right off the highway, just over the bridge from the National Park, super easy to find. Didn't arrive until after 10pm and everyone was so nice. The room was very nice, temp was comfortable in the room when we arrived. The complimentary breakfast was great, nice selection of choices, cereal, sausage gravy and biscuits, the makings for breakfast sandwiches or waffles, muffins, yogurt, 3 kinds of juice plus coffee. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

My husband and I stayed here over Christmas, and were very happy with our experience! Staff were super nice and helpful, rooms were very clean, had no trouble with hot water, and breakfast was good - even though it was over a major holiday and we had low expectations. We had a suite with a separate bedroom, and it was very spacious. We have family in the area and wil definitely return to this hotel!

The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. The front desk staff was extraordinary. From the time we checked in with Carson through our stay with Karen and our final checkout with Jonathan. Because of Jonathan's wonderful personality and attention to us on the phone when when we called for information we chose Appomattox Inn to stay. We are so glad we did and got to chat with wonderful staff including Britney and Nancy. So glad we made this choice and will be staying again.

We were planning to stay in town for one night and had a reservation somewhere else. Upon check in there we decided that was not the safest or best decision. So we drove straight over to the Appomattox Inn hoping they'd have a room for 4 people on short notice. When we walked in, a beautiful fresh smell greeted us along with two unbelievable employees who became our angels that day! The lobby is gorgeous by the way! A well appointed bar for those who partake. So Rebecca and Carson set us up with a great room. We have 2 teenagers and needed a roll away bed and some extra pillows and blankets. Carson promptly had them at our door! Our room was spacious and spotless! Everything about this place was just so welcoming! We felt safe and comfortable! We went out to dinner based on one of the recommendations from staff, it was a delicious home-cooked style meal! We loved it!!!! After a good rest and a hot shower, we went downstairs for breakfast! And a lovely filling breakfast it was! Eggs, ham, sausage, Biscuits, gravy, potatoes, Waffles, breads, muffins, cereals, yogurts, fruits, juices, teas and fresh hot coffee! The breakfast staff was all smiles and making sure to keep things filled and exceptionally clean! Our check out was quick and easy! In all my years, I've never encountered a place like this! I was told this hotel has 4 private owners. Who clearly want things a very specific way and holds a high standard for their staff. The details included here are because they have the guests in mind 100%. It's all about you. Lots of little amenities at a reasonable price. I'm positive they have tons of repeat customers! We would stay again in a heartbeat! Thank you all so much for your love and hospitality!

Everything was absolutely outstanding and excellent. Karen on nightshift had the bar and kitchen covered. She made sure our large group was fed and had any accommodations met (within reason) - 10/10 to her for making our stay a wonderful time. I loved the layout of the dining, bar and patio area. It made it very relaxed. The hotel looked brand new from floor to ceiling and breakfast was hot and fresh. My only reason for leaning into a 4-star and not a 5-star rating is because of the bathroom door. I thought it was a really odd set up to have a sliding barn door with a gap (for a bathroom door) in the hotel room. It’s fortunate I was traveling with family, but had I been sharing with friends or even colleagues, this would be a major concern as you can literally see into the room from the toilet seat and into the bathroom from the bedroom. Also, no way of locking the door… Again, if you’re with family - it works, but if traveling in pairs that you’re not that comfortable with, it would be problematic. My only guess for this was a modern take to allow steam to exit the restroom, but I’m sure it could have been accomplished another route. Otherwise, loved the place and would be recommend.

This is THEE go-to place in Appomattox, VA. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. During the past five years, my family has had to use their services often; everything from family reunions to memorial service accommodations, the Inn has been a life-saver. I'm quite sure, when being built, this location did not fully anticipate being so busy. So, if you have plans - book as early as possible. They stay full. The rooms are beautiful. The atmosphere is wonderful. Although the town itself is quaint, the location is great (a lot of history in Appomattox), the Inn is easily accessible to the highway and very close to eateries and shopping.
